DPIIT, GSV join hands for advance National Master Plan

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), a division of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has partnered with Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) in a collaborative effort to advance India's infrastructure and logistics sectors. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on October 4 outlines GSV's role as the principal agency responsible for designing, developing, and delivering courses and curriculum related to the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan and the National Logistics Policy. These programs will be implemented at various centers across different states in India.

Piyush Goyal, the Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, emphasized the global significance of PM Gati Shakti, which is poised to become a planning tool of great importance on the global stage. He underscored the critical role played by GSV in providing skill development and capacity building for professionals in the logistics sector, ultimately fostering formalization within this vital industry.

The signing of the MoU witnessed the participation of over 16 Central Ministries, including NITI Aayog and CBC, reflecting a collaborative effort to further the goals outlined in the agreement. This partnership marks a significant milestone, uniting three key visions: smarter planning and implementation, structured specialized development, and capacity building. Together, these initiatives are poised to bring substantial advancements to India's infrastructure and logistics sectors, ultimately driving economic growth and development.
