Greenply Launches Rs 6+ Bn Semiliguda Industrial Project in Odisha

Greenply Industries has expanded its manufacturing footprint with a new integrated wood panel facility at Semiliguda, Koraput district, Odisha. The project, valued at over Rs 6 billion, will produce plywood and MDF, generate 1,200+ direct jobs, and strengthen sustainable agroforestry-based growth in the region.

Greenply Industries, one of India’s leading interior infrastructure companies, inaugurated its Semiliguda Industrial Project through a virtual ceremony attended by the Chief Minister of Odisha, Mohan Charan Majhi, Sampad Chandra Swain, Minister for the Department of Industries, Government of Odisha, and senior officials.

Rajesh Mittal, Chairman and Managing Director, Greenply Industries, said, “We are honoured to join hands with the Government of Odisha on this milestone project. The state’s support in land allotment, single-window clearances, and approvals has been instrumental in bringing this vision to life. Our plywood and MDF units will generate employment and anchor sustainable agroforestry-based growth, creating value for the local community and the industry.”

Aligned with Atmanirbhar Bharat and the Make in India initiative, the project integrates quality control standards across plywood and panel manufacturing, supporting employment growth nationwide.

Developed through its wholly owned subsidiary, Greenply Sandila, the Semiliguda project leverages strategic location advantages, abundant plantation-grown timber, and strong road and rail connectivity. The project will generate 1,200+ direct jobs, foster local SMEs, and drive regional economic growth while strengthening Greenply’s leadership in advanced manufacturing.

Greenply continues its commitment to eco-friendly manufacturing and community development. The company has planted over 75 million seedlings across more than 1 lakh acres, securing a sustainable raw material supply, increasing farmer incomes, supporting India’s 33 per cent green cover target, and promoting carbon-neutral growth in the sector.
