Hindustan Zinc Opens Cath Lab in Udaipur

Hindustan Zinc recently inaugurated a state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory at Rabindranath Tagore Hospital, Udaipur. The facility was inaugurated by Gulab Chand Kataria, Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh, in the presence of local MLAs, RNT Hospital leadership and senior Hindustan Zinc officials.

The Cath Lab follows an MoU signed earlier between Hindustan Zinc and RNT Hospital for the redevelopment and upgradation of the hospital into a future-ready, multi-speciality healthcare facility. Equipped with advanced cardiac technology, it will support minimally invasive, image-guided procedures such as coronary angiography, angioplasty and stent placement.

The facility is expected to benefit over 3 million residents of Udaipur district and patients from neighbouring districts in Rajasthan by improving access to timely and specialised cardiac care. It is part of Hindustan Zinc’s broader commitment to modernise RNT Hospital with improved patient infrastructure, medical technology and research capabilities.

Hindustan Zinc said the initiative supports its wider social impact focus across Rajasthan, particularly in healthcare, where cardiovascular diseases account for nearly 25–30 per cent of deaths. The company’s community initiatives span over 4,400 villages and impact more than 2.6 million people.
