Mahindra Appoints Purnima Lamba as Chief Brand Officer

Mahindra Group has appointed Purnima Lamba as Chief Brand Officer, with the role effective from September first, 2026. The appointment aligns with the Group's focus on building a purpose-driven and future-ready corporate brand. The Group stated that Lamba will take charge of shaping and stewarding the corporate brand and communications strategy across its businesses.

In the new role, Lamba will lead the development and execution of a compelling brand narrative aligned with the Group's values, vision and business ambitions. She will oversee brand consistency across Mahindra's diverse business verticals and ensure alignment with its purpose driven identity. She will also drive initiatives to enhance brand salience across traditional and digital ecosystems.

Lamba joins the Group after a global career of 25 years at Unilever, where she held senior leadership roles in India, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. Her record includes building tech-enabled beauty experiences and pioneering digital media models that strengthened brand presence and expanded global footprint. The Group highlighted her strategic thinking, creativity and consumer insight as attributes that will help elevate brands and inspire teams.

She holds a BSc and MSc in Management from the London School of Economics and Political Science and has combined entrepreneurial beginnings with leadership of major global beauty brands. Founded in 1945, the Mahindra Group employs 324000 people in over 100 countries and holds leadership positions in farm equipment, utility vehicles, information technology and financial services in India.
