MP Cabinet Approves Rs 23,000 Million For Infrastructure Works

The Madhya Pradesh cabinet approved Rs 23,000 million (mn) for infrastructure development and rehabilitation works across the state following a meeting chaired by the chief minister at the Mantralaya in Bhopal. The council of ministers sanctioned the package to support diverse projects and governance measures aimed at improving public services and state infrastructure. The decisions were finalised in a single session of the cabinet.

The cabinet extended the Mukhyamantri Scooty Yojana till 2031 with an outlay of Rs 4,950 mn, under which students securing first position with at least 70 per cent marks in their first attempt in government higher secondary schools run by the School Education Department and the Tribal Affairs Department will be eligible to receive scooters. The scheme is intended to encourage academic performance among girl students and to support mobility for education. Administrative details and disbursement mechanisms were sanctioned by the council.

Among other approvals, the cabinet allocated Rs 8,000 mn for expansion and modernisation of the State Data Centre under the Data Centre 3.0 project, covering IT infrastructure enhancement, disaster recovery capacity and related non?IT infrastructure. It approved continuation of examination and administrative schemes for publicly funded programmes from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2031, with an outlay of Rs 5,430 mn. The council also sanctioned Rs 1,230 mn for the ongoing establishment and operation of the Science Park, the Single Citizen Database Project and the Biotechnology Park through to 2031.

The cabinet approved a procured food grain disposal policy and amendments to the state investment promotion policy for electronics manufacturing. It sanctioned Rs 1,000 mn for the Namo Harit Nagar Yojana to develop urban forests in 65 urban local bodies over the next five years, aiming to create at least one urban forest in each municipality. The council authorised Rs 2,025 mn for rehabilitation and resettlement in Panna district and continued the Legal Aid Defence Counsel System Scheme till 2031 with Rs 420 mn.
