SAMPANN Pension Portal Integrated with UMANG Platform

The SAMPANN pension management system, developed by the Office of the Controller General of Communication Accounts (CGCA), has recently been integrated with the UMANG (Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance) platform. The integration enables pensioners to access their Pension Payment Order (PPO) number and life certificate validity status through the UMANG mobile application or web portal.

The initiative is expected to benefit nearly four lakh pensioners of the Department of Telecommunications across the country by providing round-the-clock access to essential pension-related information. The integration is aimed at improving transparency, ease of access and seamless delivery of services through a unified digital platform.

Shri Ashish Joshi, Principal Controller of Communication Accounts, Delhi, stated that the integration strengthens pensioner-centric service delivery while ensuring prompt and transparent access to information. He also noted that the availability of services on UMANG, along with recent DigiLocker integration, reflects the department’s continued focus on digital governance.

UMANG serves as a single platform offering government services from Central, State and local authorities and is part of the Digital India initiative. It is accessible on Android, iOS and web platforms, with Aadhaar-based authentication.

SAMPANN, a flagship digital initiative of the Department of Telecommunications, manages the entire pension lifecycle, from processing and disbursement to grievance redressal. The system allows pensioners to receive payments directly into bank accounts, generate e-PPOs, submit life certificates, update personal details and lodge complaints without visiting government offices.
