Spark Minda To Create 6,440 Jobs With Rs1,166 Crore YEIDA Investment

Spark Minda expects to create 6,440 jobs through an investment of Rs1,166 crore in two units located in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). The sum equates to 11,660 million (mn) Rs or 11.66 bn Rs on conversion. The company said the project represents a major expansion of its manufacturing footprint in the region and will involve capital expenditure on plant, machinery and related infrastructure to support automotive component production.

The investment is planned for two manufacturing units in YEIDA and will aim to increase output and operational capacity over successive phases, the company said. Employment opportunities are expected across production, logistics, quality assurance and administrative functions, with a focus on utilising local labour. The authority will facilitate land and approvals while the company will undertake recruitment, training and supply chain development to integrate the new units into existing operations.

The project is described as a strategic move to meet rising demand for automotive components and to strengthen domestic sourcing, the company added. Capital expenditure will also target process improvements and adoption of standard manufacturing practices to enhance productivity and compliance. Local suppliers and service providers are likely to see increased demand as operations scale up, which is expected to generate indirect employment and support small and medium enterprises in the supply chain.

Regional economic activity is anticipated to benefit from enhanced industrial activity, increased household incomes and expanded business for ancillary services, the company indicated. Authorities and company representatives will coordinate on timelines and implementation, with phased commissioning to ensure operational readiness. The firm said it remains committed to sustainable practices and skills development as the projects progress, and that further details on schedules and capacity will be released as plans advance.
