The state cabinet announced that an amount of Rs.12.84 billion had been approved for the purpose of strengthening and enhancing the power distribution network, specifically to address the issue of low voltage in rural areas. The funds were allocated for the implementation of phase V of the Odisha Distribution System Strengthening Programme. As part of this phase, upgrading power transformers, replacing old conductors, and reinforcing existing power lines would be undertaken. Additionally, the construction of new 11 KV and 33 KV lines is also planned to improve the power sector.
