Hindustan Zinc Joins Dow Jones ESG Index

Hindustan Zinc has been included in the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Index 2026 for Emerging Markets following the latest index rebalance by S&P Dow Jones Indices. The inclusion marks the company’s first entry into the global ESG benchmark index.

Formerly known as the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, the benchmark tracks companies demonstrating strong environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance across global markets. Hindustan Zinc is among only 25 Indian companies included in the emerging markets index and one of only two companies from India’s metals and mining sector.

The company was earlier ranked as the world’s most sustainable metals and mining company in the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment 2025. It also became the first Indian mining company to join the International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM).

Arun Misra, CEO, Hindustan Zinc, said the recognition reflects the company’s focus on responsible resource production, transparency and sustainable growth.
Hindustan Zinc also highlighted initiatives including EcoZen, its low-carbon zinc product manufactured using renewable energy, and its roadmap to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 or earlier.

"Join industry leaders at RAHSTA Expo, India's premier platform for roads, highways and traffic infrastructure. Register now to explore innovations, network with experts and shape the future of mobility."
