Enlight Metals enters contract manufacturing with 25,000 TPA capacity plan

Enlight Metals has announced its entry into contract manufacturing as part of its strategy to expand into value-added mild steel production. The company said it has launched operations with an initial capacity of 25,000 tonnes per annum (TPA), spread across Faridabad, Raipur and Pune.

The company said the expansion is aimed at improving efficiency in the fragmented supply chain serving the steel and infrastructure sectors. Through contract manufacturing, Enlight Metals plans to provide end-to-end solutions, ranging from sourcing raw mild steel to supplying finished structural components. The move is expected to support faster project execution, reduce logistical delays and improve cost efficiencies for B2B customers.

The three locations have been selected as key industrial hubs based on supply chain analytics. Raipur offers proximity to raw material sources, supporting supply stability and lower inbound logistics costs. Pune provides access to the western industrial corridor, while Faridabad will serve as a strategic base for manufacturing and distribution across North India.

The company said its model will remain asset-light, leveraging a network of fabrication partners while retaining control over raw material sourcing and quality assurance. This approach is intended to improve agility, enhance capacity utilisation and enable quicker response to market demand.

Initially, Enlight Metals will focus on products such as slotted angles, solar structures and cable trays, with plans to move towards in-house manufacturing for select segments. The company also plans to expand into pre-engineered building (PEB) components and heavy fabrication solutions to cater to sectors such as commercial real estate, warehousing and logistics infrastructure.

Vedant Goel, CEO, Enlight Metals, said, "Our entry into contract manufacturing is a strategic step towards building a more efficient and integrated supply chain for the infrastructure sector. By moving beyond raw material supply to value-added manufacturing, we are enabling our partners to build faster and more cost-effectively. This model not only strengthens our operational efficiency but also allows us to capture higher value while remaining asset-light and scalable. As we expand, our focus will remain on driving profitability, innovation, and long-term value creation."

Enlight Metals said it is positioning itself to meet growing demand for precision-engineered mild steel components, supported by India’s infrastructure growth and emerging trends such as renewable energy and digital infrastructure.

Going forward, the company plans to integrate advanced technologies including predictive analytics and AI-driven demand forecasting to optimise inventory, reduce material wastage and enable just-in-time delivery.
