TN Seeks Central Clearances for Hosur Airport Plan

Tamil Nadu has recently urged the Centre to expedite key approvals for the proposed greenfield airport at Hosur. State Industries Minister T R B Rajaa said the project requires clearances from the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Airports Authority of India (AAI) before moving to the next stage.

The airport, to be developed by TIDCO, is planned to ease congestion at Bengaluru Airport and support the fast-growing industrial belt around Hosur. Rajaa noted that the government has submitted detailed proposals and is awaiting technical and site-related assessments from the Centre.

The project is expected to improve regional connectivity and attract fresh investment into Krishnagiri district.
