The minister reviewed progress during a meeting with the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and other stakeholders, with attention on timelines and interagency coordination for the three proposed airports.

Plans for a Kothagudem airport are being reassessed after the Civil Aviation Ministry determined that the originally identified site was unsuitable, prompting the state to commission a fresh feasibility study to identify an alternative location. Authorities said that the new study will examine technical, environmental and land suitability criteria and will seek inputs from local administrations and potential investors. Officials indicated that outcomes of the feasibility exercise will guide subsequent land planning and the scheduling of project milestones.
