AIMTC Urges Closure of State Border Check Posts

The All India Motor Transport Congress (AIMTC) has raised its voice in support of closing check posts at state borders across India. The transport body is actively pushing for the removal of these checkpoints, citing inefficiencies and delays in the movement of goods and vehicles. This move is seen as a step towards streamlining inter-state transportation and boosting economic activities. In a bid to enhance the ease of doing business and reduce logistic bottlenecks, AIMTC is advocating for a seamless movement of goods and vehicles. Check posts have often been criticised for causing significant delays in the transportation of goods, leading to increased costs and productivity losses. By eliminating these barriers, the transport industry expects a significant improvement in efficiency and cost-effectiveness. AIMTC's call for the closure of state border check posts aligns with the broader goal of simplifying India's logistics network and promoting a more conducive environment for trade and commerce. This development highlights the ongoing efforts to modernise the country's transportation infrastructure, with a focus on reducing unnecessary regulatory hurdles.
