Barricades on Pune Metro Line 3 removed to ease the traffic

The Pune Metro Line 3 is accelerating quickly on various Hinjewadi sections leading to the Shivanagag route. On a big scale, the pier construction, girder installation, and viaduct construction have been finished. As a result, the barricades have been gradually pulled down by the metro developers and traffic planning authorities. As a result, the Balewadi-Baner roads are now breathing easier once more.

When this route was constructed, barricades were initially built on both sides of the road, resulting in narrow roads. Residents who commute through these roads must therefore deal with problems like traffic jams. These barriers are required to keep workers and commuters safe and stop the vast metro development from blocking traffic. 20,061 running metres of barricading have been finished since the 23.3 km length between Hinjewadi and Shivajinagar construction began, out of the 23862 RMT barricading.

Currently, section one of the Hinjewadi Metro, which runs from Man to Balewadi, Section Two, which runs from Balewadi to Vidyapeeth Chowk, and Section Three, which runs from Pune University Circle to Shivajinagar civil court, are all being built. The metro construction's first and second portions, however, are nearly finished.

Barriers are being removed from areas where piers have been erected, and the girders are now in place. The obstacles between Baner Phata and Abhimanashree region and Balewadi Stadium and Ram Nadi area have begun to be removed in an effort to make daily commuters' lives easy by accelerating regular road traffic and minimising travel delays as much as possible.

Additionally, it has been investigated how to narrow the barricades where work is being done to improve traffic accessibility. As a result, at the NICMAR and Cosmos Bank crossroads on Ganeshkhind Road, the width of the barricades has been reduced by a few metres. These barriers will be taken down once the pier and girder construction is finished.
