BRO restores vital Budhal-Mahore-Gul Road Link in just 5 Days

The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) 110RCC/31 BRTF, under Project SAMPARK, successfully repaired a 150-meter breach on the critical Budhal-Mahore-Gul Road. This road holds immense significance for the Mahore sub-division of Reasi district in Jammu and Kashmir. The BRO managed to restore the road within a span of just five days, as confirmed by officials.

The Budhal-Mahore-Gul road plays a pivotal role in connecting the districts of Rajouri, Reasi, and Ramban, serving as a vital link among them.

In the preceding month of July, the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) was obstructed due to landslides, leading to advisories against its usage.

The Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police posted on Twitter, "NH-44, Mughal road, and SSG road are currently blocked due to two landslides. Travellers are urged to avoid these routes until they are cleared."

The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, stretching 250 kilometres, is an all-weather road that connects Kashmir with the rest of the nation. Additionally, the Mughal Road connects Bufliaz town in the Poonch district of the Jammu region to Shopian district in Kashmir. This historic road, spanning 84 kilometres, traces a path used during the Mughal era over the Pir Panjal Pass. Meanwhile, the Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri (SSG) double-lane road links the Ladakh region to Jammu and Kashmir.

Previously, NH-44 faced blockades due to multiple landslides and falling rocks from the hillock at Cafeteria Morh and Mehar in Ramban town.
