By 2024 Gadkari to invest Rs 2 trillion on road infra in Jharkhand
Speaking at a rally in Ranchi, the state capital, Gadkari remarked, “The projects what you are seeing at present is just a trailer. I promise I will deliver Rs 2 lakh crore road infrastructure projects in Jharkhand.” According to the Union minister, Jharkhand has many resources, including coal and iron, and improved infrastructure in the state might spur the growth of the nation.
According to Gadkari, the goal is to lower logistic costs, which are substantially higher in India at 16% compared to countries like China and the US, where they are roughly 8% and 12% respectively. The road network will support local industry and generate a tonne of employment, he added. By 2024, India's logistics costs are to be reduced to 9%, according to the Road Transport and Highways Minister.
He asked the Jharkhand administration to submit plans for road network, lamenting the fact that the state had not received any while as many as 260 bids from other states had been received. The minister emphasised the need for green fuel and invited farmers in Jharkhand to participate in the manufacturing of ethanol from rice straw, stubble, and other byproducts.
