The Ministry of Rural Development has sanctioned projects totalling Rs 6.2 billion to construct rural roads across northeastern regions, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Odisha. This initiative aims to bolster economic development by improving connectivity in remote areas.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana III (PMGSY-III), an investment of Rs 4.7 billion has been approved for rural road projects in Manipur, Mizoram, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Specifically, Manipur will see the construction of 41 roads spanning 280.97 km with an estimated cost of Rs 2.25 billion. Mizoram is set to receive Rs 676.9 million for seven long-span bridges measuring a total of 373.46 meters.
