Gadkari lays foundation for 8 road projects in East Godavari

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari laid the foundation virtually last week for eight road projects covering a distance of 129 km, with an investment of nearly Rs 30 billion, in Rajamahendravaram, East Godavari.

The projects include a two-lane road connecting Rampachodavaram to Koyyuru, a four-lane flyover at Morampudi, a four-lane flyover at Jonnada, a and similar flyovers at Undrajavaram, Tetali, and Kaikaram, the four-laning of the Samarlakota-Achampeta junction connecting Kakinada Anchorage Port, and the four-laning of Vakalapudi-Annavaram via Uppada Beach Road.

The time for completion of the projects is 24 months and the main objectives are to enhance safety and level of service for the road users and also to enhance efficiency of the project highway with better operation and maintenance.

The projects are being taken up so as to have minimal adverse impact on local population and road users due to road construction, environment, and minimal additional acquisition of land.
