Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, chairing a high-powered purchase committee meeting, approved infrastructure development projects worth Rs 2,497.7 million (approximately $30 million) for the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA). These projects aim to enhance road infrastructure, improve public transport services, ensure safe pedestrian movement, and support equitable water distribution in Gurugram.

A total of eleven infrastructure projects were approved for allotment, with the government saving Rs 79.6 million ($950,000) through negotiations with bidders.

Key approvals include Rs 1,660 million (approximately $20 million) for the repair and development of 64 km of master sector dividing roads and 17.2 km of service roads. The work will cover sectors such as 84/88, 85/89, 86/90, and 87/90, along with the repair of major roads like New Railway Road, Old Railway Road, and multiple sectors including 23/23A, 18/19, and others.

In addition, Rs 507.7 million (approximately $6 million) was approved for three projects aimed at enhancing public transport services. These projects include developing a bus depot for e-buses in Sector 48, constructing 154 bus queue shelters, and improving the Gurugaman city bus network across various sectors.

To improve pedestrian safety, GMDA will construct four Foot Over Bridges (FOBs) in high-traffic areas, including Sector 14 market, Raheja Mall, and CD Chowk on Sohna Road.

Lastly, the Smart City division will execute a Rs 164 million (approximately $2 million) project to install a Centralized Integrated Water Management System (CIWMS) along the 1300 mm master water supply pipeline, ensuring real-time monitoring and equitable distribution of potable water.
