LDA To Widen Shaheed Path Slip Road Near Summit Building

The Lucknow Development Authority will widen the Shaheed Path slip road adjacent to the Summit building and work is due to begin soon. The upgrade is intended to ease persistent congestion on the arterial route that links the city ring road with eastern residential and commercial districts. The scheme will focus on expanding the carriageway and improving the roadside environment to accommodate growing traffic demands.

The project will involve phased construction to minimise disruption and maintain traffic flow while works proceed. Measures are expected to include temporary traffic diversions, strengthening of the road base, improved surface finishing and upgrades to pedestrian access and drainage. Contractors will be required to coordinate closely with traffic management agencies to ensure safety and continuity of essential services. Preliminary surveys and design adjustments will inform the sequencing of activities and the placement of temporary safety barriers.

The LDA will coordinate the implementation with the municipal corporation and local traffic police and will engage with nearby businesses and residents to communicate schedules and mitigation measures. The Summit building will serve as a key reference point for signage and alternative route information during the works. The authority anticipates that the completed scheme will reduce travel times, ease bottlenecks and enhance road safety for motorists and pedestrians.

Initial works are expected to start shortly and continue in phases until the upgraded road is operational, with exact timelines to be released by the authority as plans are finalised.
