Maruti Suzuki expects chip shortage to continue

According to a senior company executive, Maruti Suzuki India anticipates that the shortage of semiconductors will last for the upcoming quarters and cause the backlog of orders for some models to grow even more. The largest automaker in the nation has seen its backlog of orders rise to 3.69 lakh units, with the Ertiga taking the lead with about 94,000 orders.

There are about 37,000 and 61,500 units of orders pending for other models like the Grand Vitara and Brezza, respectively. Also, the business has gotten about 22,000 and 12,000 reservations for Jimny and Fronx, respectively.
