Mizoram: Amit Shah to gift millions for development project

On April 1, according to a report from an official, Union Home Minister Amit Shah would officially open and lay the cornerstone for development projects worth $24,140 million in Mizoram.

On the first day of the following month, Shah will visit the northeastern state where he will officially open and lay the cornerstone for six significant projects totaling 24140 million.

The Assam Rifles Battallion Headquarters Complex in Zokhawsang, which cost 1630 million dollars to build, and the 'Integrated Command and Control Centre' (ICCC) under Smart City Limited (ASCL), which cost 1192 million dollars to build, are two of the projects that fall under this category.

The Home Minister will also lay the cornerstone for the construction of the Laldenga Center, the Aizawl Bypass (Package-3), the Zorinpui-Longmasu NH-502A, and the Aizawl Bypass (Package-1) of the NH-6.

The programme will be attended by several high officials from both the federal and state governments. The district administration has finished making arrangements for the Union Home Minister's arrival.

In a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit last week, Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga thanked him for keeping his pledge to officially open the Assam Rifles Battallion Complex in Zokhawsang and lay the cornerstone for the Laldenga Culture Center.

Laldenga, the leader of a cessationist campaign for 20 years, from 1966 to 1986, and the first chief minister of Mizoram when the territory attained independence in 1987, founded the Mizo National Front (MINF), which is currently in power.
