MSRDC's Ambitious Plan: 2 New Tunnels for Mumbai-Pune Expressway

The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has unveiled an ambitious plan to further improve the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, one of India's busiest and most vital transportation links. The proposal aims to construct two additional tunnels along the expressway to alleviate traffic congestion and enhance connectivity between Mumbai and Pune.

This development comes as a significant stride towards bolstering the infrastructure in the region. The first tunnel will be situated at the Khandala Ghat section, a notorious bottleneck during peak travel hours. This strategic location aims to reduce travel time and enhance safety for commuters. The second tunnel will be built at the Lonavala-Kusgaon stretch, addressing another critical traffic hotspot along the expressway.
