Nepali Farm-Dhalwala Elevated Road Project Awaits Approval

Authorities have proposed an 11 km elevated road from Nepali Farm to Dhalwala with an estimated budget of Rs 14.85 billion to ease traffic congestion, especially during peak hours. The project’s Detailed Project Report (DPR) was submitted to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways’ regional office in Dehradun last November and is now awaiting approval from the Standing Financial Committee (SFC). To further improve traffic flow in Rishikesh, especially during the Chardham Yatra and Kanwar Yatra, the project’s next phase will extend the elevated road by 7 km from Dhalwala to Garudachatti near Tapovan. This phase will include the construction of two tunnels to enhance regional connectivity.
