R&B Dept to initiate Rs 2 bn road project post MCC conclusion

The Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department in Kashmir has announced its plans to initiate a comprehensive road macadamiasation project across the valley once the Model Code of Conduct in view of the Lok Sabha elections concludes.

According to Sajad Ahmad Naqeeb, Chief Engineer of the Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department in Kashmir, the ambitious project, estimated at Rs 2 billion, is set to commence in May. Naqeeb conveyed to the news agency?Kashmir News Observer (KNO)?that the initiative is aimed at covering approximately 630 kilometers of roads throughout the entire Kashmir region.

He expressed his confidence that the implementation of this project would significantly enhance road safety standards, thereby potentially saving lives.
