Sagar Dedicates Rs 6.5 Million Road Project To Public

Khanyar Ali Mohammad Sagar, general secretary of the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference and MLA for Khanyar, inaugurated and dedicated a 1,500-foot-long concrete road at Peer Bagh Colony, Abi Nao Pora, completing a project constructed at a cost of Rs 6.5 million (mn). The opening was described as the fulfilment of a long-pending demand by local residents and the road was presented as an important facility for the area. The project completion formed part of ongoing local road development work. Local officials noted that the design addressed surface drainage and pedestrian access.

MLA Hazratbal Salman Ali Sagar was in attendance at the inauguration and the ceremony was followed by a public darbar presided over by Khanyar Ali Mohammad Sagar. He listened to issues, grievances and demands brought by residents and took up several matters with concerned authorities on the spot. The approach was framed as prioritising the provision of basic amenities.

He underlined that providing basic and essential services, strengthening infrastructure and improving quality of life for common people remained foremost priorities of the National Conference government. Officials highlighted that over the past nearly two years development activities in the Khanyar constituency had gained considerable momentum. Work had been undertaken on roads, lanes and by-lanes, parks, community halls, streetlights and other civic infrastructure.

The government led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was credited with efforts to reconnect administrative and development processes with the priorities and needs of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Measures were noted across roads, bridges, water supply, electricity, healthcare, education, urban infrastructure, employment, tourism and public welfare. The inauguration was presented as part of a sustained push to improve urban services and respond to community demands. Officials indicated that similar projects would be pursued in other localities as resources permit.
