Sridhar Babu Sets September 30 Deadline For Road Widening

IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu inspected the Bahadurpally-Kompally road-widening project at Dulapally and directed officials to complete the works within the stipulated timelines. He reviewed the progress of construction and highlighted the need to remove bottlenecks that were delaying activity on the corridor. The inspection focused on stretches where utility relocation and land clearance had been slower than planned. Project engineers provided briefings on work schedules and resource needs.

The minister instructed authorities to expedite pending works and to prioritise the shifting of electrical poles along the forest stretch, setting August 15 as the deadline for that task. He also set September 30 as the target date for completion of the road-widening works and asked teams to accelerate workplans to meet that end. Officials were told to identify and address procedural and technical impediments that hindered progress. He called for increased mobilisation of machinery and manpower to adhere to the revised timelines.

Sridhar Babu directed authorities to fast track land acquisition in Dulapally and Bahadurpally to clear the way for uninterrupted construction. He asked the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) to prepare and submit proposals for stormwater drains to the City Municipal Council (CMC) for examination and necessary action. The objective is to ensure adequate drainage along the corridor and to avoid waterlogging once the widened road becomes operational. They were told to coordinate closely with utility agencies to synchronise relocation works and avoid further delays.

The minister emphasised close coordination among agencies and regular monitoring to ensure adherence to the deadlines and to prevent further slippage. He asked officials to report progress at specified intervals and to remove any administrative or field level obstacles promptly. The measures are intended to improve traffic flow, support local development and deliver benefits to commuters within the stipulated timeframe. Periodic reports on milestones and constraints were to be submitted to the ministerial office for review.
