Thanjavur-Vikravandi NH work to finish in three months: Nitin Gadkari

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari announced on Friday that the Thanjavur-Kumbakonam-Vikravandi National Highway will be completed within three months. He also stated that efforts are underway to bring more road infrastructure projects to Tamil Nadu.

During his inspection of the ongoing construction at Cholapuram near Kumbakonam, Gadkari emphasised that funding was not an issue, and his ministry is prepared to allocate an additional Rs 1 trillion for road infrastructure development in Tamil Nadu. The ministry has already invested Rs 2 trillion in the state's road infrastructure over the past decade.

Gadkari urged the state government to expedite land acquisition and other necessary clearances to ensure the swift completion of projects. Prior to his inspection, the minister arrived in Kumbakonam by helicopter and visited the Jagannatha Perumal temple in Nathan Koil.
