Ashoka Bags Rs 5 Billion Rail Electrification Contract

Ashoka Buildcon Ltd. has secured a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) worth approximately Rs 5 billion from the North Western Railway, Jaipur, for a major upgrade of the electric traction system in the Jaipur Division. The contract, with a duration of 24 months, involves the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of a 2×25 kV traction system to replace the current 1×25 kV network. The project also includes modifications to the overhead equipment to enable train speeds of up to 160 km/h across specified sections of the division.
In a separate development, Servotech Power Systems Ltd. has been awarded a contract by the North Western Railway for a 7.3 MW on-grid rooftop solar project. Valued at Rs 288.4 million, the project includes the design, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of solar power systems of varying capacities across multiple sites within the Jaipur Division.
According to an exchange filing, Servotech stated that the solar initiative represents another milestone in its mission to support India’s clean energy transition.
