Minister of Railways launches new development projects in Lucknow

Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw opened development projects at Gomti Nagar railway station in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, saying that the government's vision is to transform Indian Railways by improving passenger services.

Vaishnaw told the media that Prime Minister Narendra Modi believes that the railways are the country's unit of transformation.

The Gomti Nagar railway station is currently undergoing a redevelopment project. Passengers will benefit from improved facilities. The goal is to improve passenger services and thus transform Indian Railways.

The Minister also met with Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, to discuss railways and other UP projects.

In addition, the minister informed that railway projects worth Rs 97,000 crore are being built in Uttar Pradesh.

At a ceremony held at Gomti Nagar Railway station in the state capital, the Railway Minister inaugurated the terminal facilities and coaching complex, including the newly constructed second entrance, according to North Central Railway (NCR) Chief Public Relations Officer Shivam Sharma.

Vaishnav, speaking at the event, said that Lucknow is rapidly developing and expanding and that the city is particularly important in the educational, industrial, and cultural fields.

Residents, students, and public representatives in Lucknow and the surrounding areas have long demanded that trains be run from Lucknow to Guwahati, according to the minister.

Railway Minister Vaishnav informed that station development is being done with the needs of the next 50 years in mind, benefiting all sections of society.
