Mumbai's first underground Metro corridor, the Aqua line's phase 1, from Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) to Aarey became operational for the public. Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC), which is executing the 33.5-km-long Colaba-SEEPZ-Aarey JVLR project, has notified that services will be operated from 6.30 am to 10.30 pm between Monday and Saturday and from 8.30 am to 10.30 pm on Sundays. The minimum fare for a ride on the Metro line is Rs 10 and maximum Rs 50. Passengers can book tickets using the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC), Mumbai Metro 3 mobile app and ticket vending machines, among other means. The Aqua Line, also known as Mumbai Metro Line 3, is a key underground metro corridor being developed to enhance connectivity across the city. Phase1 of the Aqua Line spans about 20 km and is designed to improve access between the city’s financial hub and its northern residential areas. This phase is part of a larger 33.5 km metro corridor from Colaba to SEEPZ, which aims to transform Mumbai’s urban mobility landscape.
