Hyderabad witnessed major infra developments as a part of govt's SRDP

In recent years, Hyderabad has undergone major infrastructure developments with flyovers, underpasses, road under bridges (RuBs) and road over bridges (RoBs) as a part of the government's Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP).

State's Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister, KT Rama Rao, tweeted that the state government has taken up Strategic Road Development Project (SRDP) as an ongoing effort to improve infrastructure in Hyderabad.

The improvements in road infrastructure have helped in the issues of road traffic movement, avoid snarls and have also reduced travelling time in different parts of the city.

The development was possible due to the 23 SRDP projects with an investment of Rs 2,028 crore. Of the 23 projects, 19 were executed by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), Road and Buildings Department and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). 25 SRDP projects are undergoing, with Rs 6,064 crore in different parts of the city.

The first project completed under the SRDP was Ayyappa Society Underpass. It was inaugurated in 2018 and has helped in reducing traffic on Shilparamam Road. Another project, Mindspace Underpass, was also inaugurated, which helped vehicles move towards Gachibowli and other areas from Cyber Towers.

Another project, the Durgam Cheruvu Cable Stay Bridge and the connecting flyover at Road Number 45, Jubilee Hills, has reduced the commuting time to reach Jubilee Hills from Madhapur.
