TRAI Evaluates Mobile Network Quality on Jaipur-Udaipur Route & Cities

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released findings of an Independent Drive Test (IDT) conducted on the Jaipur–Udaipur rail route and across Udaipur and Rajsamand city in September 2025, to inform telecom consumers. The objective was to assess and verify real-world quality of mobile network services (voice & data) offered by Telecom Service Providers (TSPs).

During the IDT, TRAI collected performance data on key indicators like call setup success rate, data download/upload speeds and speech quality, using SIM cards from all TSPs across 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G networks. These data were analysed with advanced software tools, and the results have been published to inform users and encourage TSPs to enhance their services.

Under its appointed agency, TRAI carried out detailed drive tests covering 430.7 km of the Jaipur-Udaipur rail route and 313.1 km of city drives in Udaipur and Rajsamand.
