Gateway Distriparks Limited reported a 17.55 per cent year-on-year decline in profit after tax to Rs 51.3 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, compared with Rs 620.2 million in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Total revenue remained broadly stable at Rs 5.53 billion, against Rs 5.54 billion in Q1 FY26. EBITDA declined by 1.28 per cent to Rs 1.21 billion from Rs 1.23 billion, while profit before tax fell by 3.43 per cent to Rs 690.3 million. The company’s total throughput declined by 1.96 per cent to 183,867 twenty-foot equivalent units during the quarter, compared with 187,550 TEUs in the year-ago period. Throughput in the rail vertical stood at 92,634 TEUs, down 0.69 per cent from 93,282 TEUs. The container freight station vertical handled 91,233 TEUs, a decline of 3.22 per cent from 94,268 TEUs. Gateway Distriparks declared its first interim dividend for FY27 at Rs 1.25 per share. The decline in net profit was partly attributed to the company’s transition to the concessional tax regime under Section 115BAA of the Income Tax Act from April 1, 2026. The tax rate for the current year stood at 25.17 per cent, compared with an effective rate of 9.57 per cent in the previous year due to the utilisation of minimum alternate tax credit. Prem Kishan Dass Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director of Gateway Distriparks, said the West Asia conflict continued to affect operations by creating cargo imbalances and increasing empty running. Higher fuel prices, revised minimum wages and rising input costs also affected performance. He added that consumption and production remained subdued amid uncertainty in the global economic environment. Despite these challenges, the company remains optimistic about its long-term growth prospects and continues to expand its logistics network. Construction of the company’s inland container depot in Indore has commenced. Its multimodal logistics park at Ankleshwar has also received customs permission for export-import operations, which are expected to begin in September 2026. Snowman Logistics is continuing its expansion programme and remains on track to increase its capacity to 170,000 pallets by the middle of 2027.
