NLDSL and Maharashtra Sign MoU to Strengthen State Logistics

NICDC Logistics Data Services Limited (NLDSL) and the Government of Maharashtra signed a memorandum of understanding on 16 April 2026 to digitise the state logistics landscape by leveraging the Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP). The agreement aims to bring greater visibility, streamline operations and foster coordination among state departments to support decision making with real time data insights. The accord was formalised during an interactive ULIP workshop organised by the Directorate of Industries, Government of Maharashtra, with participation from representatives of more than ten state departments.

The workshop concentrated on identifying how the platform can address logistics challenges faced by micro, small and medium enterprises and small exporters and on improving end to end visibility across supply chains. It featured live demonstrations of NLDSL digital initiatives including the Logistics Data Bank, Koyla Shakti smart coal analytics dashboard, Track Your Transport and the Transport Management System, all powered by ULIP. The demonstrations illustrated how real time data could improve tracking and operational efficiency across the logistics value chain.

ULIP currently connects 45 systems across 11 Central Ministries and departments through 137 application programming interfaces and spans over 2,000 data fields. The ecosystem has supported the development of more than 240 innovative applications and has driven over three billion (bn) API transactions, demonstrating the platform's reliability and robustness. NLDSL will support Maharashtra in developing a unified digital gateway to improve transparency, enable faster decision making and enhance the competitiveness of the state's logistics operations.

National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation is leading industrial transformation through smart industrial cities and infrastructure and has been mandated to implement the BHAVYA scheme, which envisages development of 100 investment ready plug and play industrial parks with an outlay of Rs 336.6 billion (bn). The corporation is also implementing PM MITRA Mega Textile Parks and the India Industrial Land Bank. Established on 30 December 2015, NLDSL is a joint venture between NICDC Industrial Development Trust and NEC Corporation of Japan and will play a key role in modernising the logistics sector to support the vision of Viksit Bharat.
