Delhi Govt Prioritises Stronger Waste Management, Says CM Gupta

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has reaffirmed that strengthening the capital’s solid waste management system remains a top priority, with ongoing efforts being pursued in mission mode. During a recent review in Tughlakabad and Tehkhand, she inspected the Cleanliness Target Unit and Garbage Vulnerable Points, directing officials to ensure timely, transparent and high-quality execution of sanitation works.
Gupta examined existing arrangements, progress on proposed structures and future requirements related to waste collection and cleanliness. She instructed departments to adhere strictly to project timelines and quality benchmarks.
Conducting surprise inspections of drain cleaning, waste disposal and road-repair works, the Chief Minister called for immediate improvements to reduce inconvenience for residents. She emphasised that the government’s focus is to develop a ‘Viksit Delhi’ — a clean, safe and modern city supported by robust civic infrastructure.
