L&T wins water, waste treatment contracts in MP

Infrastructure major Larsen & Toubro's (L&T) water and effluent treatment business recently bagged multiple engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) orders to implement rural piped water supply schemes in various districts of Madhya Pradesh. According to L&T, the value of this mega-contract ranges between Rs 2,500 crore to Rs 5,000 crore.

The projects are a part of the "Jal Jeevan" mission and cover the following districts:

  • Guna
  • Ashoknagar
  • Shivpuri
  • Agar Malwa
  • Singrauli

  • The schemes will fulfil drinking water requirements of 3,103 villages covering a population of about 48 lakh. The projects are a segment of the Government's ambitious plan to deliver piped water supply to every rural household by 2024.
