Rs 3.57 Bn Water Supply Project Approved for Kalyan-Dombivli Area

On January 2, 2025, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde approved a Rs 3.57 billion water supply project for the Kalyan-Dombivli area in Thane district, under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) Mission. The project will extend water supply infrastructure to the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation area as well as 27 nearby villages.

The scheme will involve enhancing the water supply infrastructure and increasing storage capacity to 105 million cubic metres (mcm). The project had already received administrative approval from the State Level Technical Committee and the State Level High Power Steering Committee.

Shinde, who holds the Urban Development, Public Works Department, and Housing portfolios, expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for the approval of the project, noting that it would significantly improve the quality of life for residents in the region.
