BMC to revamp its asphalt plant to repair roads

BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) is all set to revamp its own, sole asphalt-making plant to break the city's dependence on inferior quality asphalt mixes supplied by private contractors. BMC's asphalt-making plant is nearly defunct and revamping the factory could help break the nexus between contractors and officials which is leading to the dismal state of the city's roads.
