Shell-GDF to acquire 26% stake each in GAIL LNG terminal

Oil firm Shell and GDF Suez will acquire 26 per cent stake each in GAIL India Ltd-Æs proposed floating LNG import terminal at Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh, while Andhra Pradesh Gas Distribution Corp (APGDC) - a JV of GAIL Gas and Andhra Pradesh Gas Infrastructure Corp (APGIC), will hold the remaining 48 per cent. Andhra Pradesh Government is pushing for an early start of work on the 3.5 mtpa floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) off the Kakinada coast.
