Srirampur And Mandamarri Areas Trail In Monthly Coal Production

All production figures in this report are shown in million (mn) to aid comparison. The SCCL Srirampur Area recorded production of 0.316 mn of coal against a monthly target of 0.547 mn in May, achieving 58 per cent of its goal. The area chief general manager, Muniganti Srinivas, briefed media on the unit's monthly performance and attributed mixed results to site conditions. All units were required to prioritise safety and compliance during operations.

Several underground mines including RK five, RK New Tech and SRP one recorded more than 100 per cent of their individual targets while SRP three and RK seven registered 96 per cent. IK IA achieved 85 per cent of its production target for May. Opencast projects at SRP and IK underperformed owing to challenges in removal of overburden and the management said steps were being taken to improve output in the coming days. Supervisors were directed to review equipment readiness and logistics.

The SCCL Mandamarri Area produced 0.122 mn against a target of 0.224 mn in May, achieving 55 per cent of the monthly target and reflecting continued operational constraints. The shortfall in Mandamarri mirrors issues seen at Srirampur where surface stripping and logistical delays affected hauling and dispatch. Management indicated targeted interventions to address overburden handling and equipment deployment. The area office will monitor progress and report weekly to central management.

By contrast, the Bellampalli Area exceeded expectations with production of 0.313 mn against a target of 0.300 mn, achieving 113 per cent of the monthly goal and providing a performance benchmark. The company will consolidate learnings from Bellampalli to inform corrective measures across lagging units. Continued monitoring and adjustments to project execution were planned to support recovery of monthly targets. Performance reviews will shape resource allocation for the next planning cycle.
