BPCL, RBML Partner To Boost CNG And City Gas Sales

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has entered into a strategic partnership with Reliance BP Mobility Limited (RBML) to strengthen city gas distribution networks and drive growth in compressed natural gas (CNG) sales across India.

The collaboration is designed to advance India’s transition towards a gas-based economy, in line with the Government of India’s goal to raise the share of natural gas in the country’s energy mix from 6 per cent to 15 per cent by 2030.

Rahul Tandon, Business Head – Gas at BPCL, said, “It is crucial that the end customer receives our molecule, aligning with the broader vision of promoting a gas-based economy. This partnership will enhance our progress towards this national objective.”

Echoing this sentiment, Akshay Wadhwa, CEO of RBML, noted, “RBML outlets attract higher footfall, which will drive increased CNG sales in the area, thereby contributing to India’s overall gas-based economy targets.”

BPCL stated that the alliance marks a major milestone in expanding access to cleaner, more affordable fuel alternatives across the country. The initiative reinforces both companies’ commitment to sustainable mobility and energy diversification, supporting India’s long-term carbon reduction and clean energy ambitions.
