Adani Power to acquire Diliigent Power and DB Power

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved Adani Power's acquisition of 100 per cent equity in Diliigent Power and DB Power. Adani Power announced in August that it will acquire DB Power, which owns and operates a 2 x 600 MW thermal power plant in Chhattisgarh's Janjgir-Champa district, for a cash consideration of Rs 70.17 billion. Diliigent Power's primary activities are those of a holding company. In Chhattisgarh, DB Power operates a coal-fired thermal power plant with an installed capacity of 1,200 MW per hour. Adani Power is a publicly traded company in India that operates eight power plants. Deals exceeding certain thresholds require approval from CCI, which monitors anti-competitive behaviour.
