Assam deployed 25-mw solar power project in Udalguri district

On July 19, Assam dedicated the 25 MW solar power project at Lalpul in the Udalguri district.

The 25 MW solar power project in Lalpul, Udalguri district, was dedicated by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. This project, based on build, own, and operate (BOO) under the Assam Solar Energy Policy 2017.

Sarma stated that the state government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is committed to taking the state's development to a new level in the next five years by shifting the state's power generation away from conventional energy sources and toward non-conventional energy sources. Climate change is one of the world's major problems, according to Chief Minister Sarma, who stated that the Assam government has decided to strike a balance between development and the natural environment in order to propel the state's development to new heights. As a result, steps have been taken to reap the benefits of renewable energy sources. He added that Assam will be one of the leading states in the nation in the next five years in the use of renewable energy to guide state growth and lessen the effects of environmental degradation.

The state administration has agreed to provide rehabilitation and compensation for flood victims within a month, as per the chief minister, who noted that the recent spate of flooding in the state has a lot to do with environmental deterioration. The state government has already begun crediting each flood-affected family with $38 billion, so the flood-affected individuals who had been staying in various relief camps have already begun returning to their homes.
