Bhakra Beas Board seeks bids for solar power projects totaling 11.5 MW

In the Haryana districts of Bhiwani and Hisar, the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) has issued an invitation for bids for the installation and commissioning of 11.5 MW of grid-connected solar power plants as well as the related transmission infrastructure. BBMB is a statutory body constituted to manage the water and power supply from Bhakra Nangal and Beas Projects to the states of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, and Chandigarh.

The winning bidder will also be responsible for the project’s operation and upkeep for a period of five years, with an option for an additional five years. The projects will be built at the 220 kV substation in Hisar (1.5 MW) and the 400 kV substation in Bhiwani (10 MW). The bids must be submitted by April 10, 2023 and the bids will be opened the same day.

Bidders must have prior experience building ground-mounted, floating, or canal-top solar projects as an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor or developer. The last seven years must have seen the installation and commissioning of grid-connected solar power installations with a total capacity of less than 10 MW. Before the deadline for bid submission, the project in question should have been in operation for at least six months.

The bidders must have completed at least one grid-connected solar power project with a 3 MW or greater capacity in the previous seven fiscal years, as well as ground-mounted, floating, or canal-top solar projects that included installation and commissioning. Before the deadline for bid submission, the project in question should have been in operation for at least six months.

As of the final day of the last fiscal year, bidders must have an average annual revenue of at least Rs 150 million ($1.81 million). They ought to have a positive net worth. The terms of the tender prohibit subletting the work. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy's Approved List of Models and Manufacturers must be consulted when purchasing solar modules for the project.
