Bondada Wins Rs 13.38 Bn NTPC Solar Order

Bondada Engineering has secured a Notification of Award from NTPC Renewable Energy for the EPC package of a 250 MW solar PV project co-located with a 50 MW / 200 MWh Battery Energy Storage System at Sitapur in Uttar Pradesh.

The order is valued at approximately Rs 13.38 billion, inclusive of GST. The project is scheduled to be executed within 18 months from the date of receipt of the Notification of Award.

The award marks a major milestone in Bondada Engineering’s growth journey and strengthens its position in India’s clean energy sector.

The project is part of NTPC Renewable Energy’s efforts to expand utility-scale renewable energy generation while integrating advanced energy storage solutions to improve grid stability and reliability.

The combination of solar generation and battery energy storage reflects the next phase of renewable energy deployment in India, where clean power is increasingly supported by storage infrastructure for round-the-clock power availability.

The company said the award from NTPC Renewable Energy reflects Bondada Engineering’s expertise in executing large-scale renewable energy infrastructure projects. It also highlights confidence in the company’s engineering capabilities, project execution, quality standards and commitment to timely delivery.

With this addition, Bondada Engineering’s solar EPC order book has expanded to approximately 5.5 GWp. Its Battery Energy Storage System order book has grown to approximately 1.1 GWh, providing strong revenue visibility and supporting its long-term growth pipeline.

Dr Bondada Raghavendra Rao, Chairman and Managing Director, Bondada Group, said the order from NTPC Renewable Energy reflects the company’s engineering excellence, execution capabilities and commitment to supporting India’s clean energy ambitions.

He added that as renewable energy increasingly integrates with advanced storage solutions, the project further strengthens Bondada Engineering’s position in the evolving energy transition ecosystem.

Rao said the company remains focused on delivering the project with high standards of quality, safety and efficiency while creating sustainable value for stakeholders.

The project is expected to contribute to Bondada Engineering’s future revenues and profitability while strengthening its credentials in both solar EPC and battery energy storage segments.

The order also aligns with the company’s strategy of becoming an integrated infrastructure partner across renewable energy, power systems, telecom and transportation sectors.

As India accelerates renewable energy capacity addition and energy storage deployment, Bondada Engineering said it will continue to support infrastructure development for the country’s sustainable growth.
