Global Energy Demand Set to Rise

The global energy demand is projected to increase by 24% by 2050, driven by growing populations and economic development, according to a report from OPEC. Despite efforts toward cleaner energy, oil is expected to remain the leading energy source, providing about 29% of the global energy mix. Renewables, such as wind and solar, will grow significantly but won't offset the dominance of fossil fuels in the near term. The report also emphasizes the challenges of balancing increased energy consumption with the need to meet climate change goals, highlighting the urgency of energy transition strategies.
