Gwalior Floats Rs 99.8 mn Tender For Two MW Solar Plant

The Gwalior Municipal Corporation has issued a Notice Inviting Tender under a Request For Proposal to appoint an agency to develop a grid-connected solar power project at Manpur. The scheme calls for a two Megawatt AC on-grid ground-mounted solar photovoltaic plant, with a 20 per cent DC oversizing that raises the total DC capacity to two point four Megawatt (MW). The selected developer will be responsible for detailed design, construction and all associated infrastructure works required for grid integration.

The original tender document was dated eight June 2024 and was digitally updated in May 2026. The estimated project value is Rs 99.8 million (mn), inclusive of GST and applicable taxes, and bidders must submit an Earnest Money Deposit of Rs zero point four nine nine million (mn), equivalent to zero point five per cent of the project cost. A non-refundable tender document fee of Rs 20,000 has been prescribed for participation in the bidding process.

The procurement timetable requires completion and commissioning within six months, or 180 days, from the date of award. After commissioning, the contractor will undertake a two-year Defect Liability Period (DLP) and a 10-year comprehensive Operation and Maintenance (O&M) responsibility. These contractual terms aim to ensure sustained plant performance and operational reliability over the longer term.

The tender has been structured through an online procurement mechanism, and the digital authorisation of the bid was completed on 15 May 2026 under the approval of Pawan Kumar Singhal, Executive Engineer of the PHE Cell of the municipal corporation. The online window for purchasing bid documents closed on 19 May 2026 and all tender documents, updates and corrigenda are being hosted on the official Madhya Pradesh e-procurement portal.
