India Achieves Historic Milestone in Renewable Energy Growth in FY 2024-25

India has achieved a significant milestone in its renewable energy transition, adding 25 GW of capacity in FY 2024-25, a 35 percent rise from the previous year’s 18.57 GW. This growth aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a sustainable and self-sufficient energy future. The solar power sector has played a pivotal role in this achievement, with capacity additions increasing from 15 GW in FY24 to 21 GW in FY25, marking a 38 percent surge. The country also surpassed 100 GW of total installed solar capacity for the first time.

Domestic solar manufacturing has seen remarkable growth under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. Solar module production capacity nearly doubled from 38 GW in March 2024 to 74 GW in March 2025, while solar PV cell manufacturing capacity tripled from 9 GW to 25 GW. India also saw the commencement of its first 2 GW ingot-wafer manufacturing facility. Under the Production Linked Incentive Scheme for High-Efficiency Solar PV Modules, investments worth Rs.41,000 crore have been made, creating direct jobs for approximately 11,650 individuals.

Elevated floors!

Raised access flooring, also called false flooring, is a less common interiors feature than false ceilings, but it has as many uses – if not more.A raised floor is a modular panel installed above the structural floor. The space beneath the raised flooring is typically used to accommodate utilities such as electrical cables, plumbing and HVAC systems. And so, raised flooring is usually associated with buildings with heavy cabling and precise air distribution needs, such as data centres. That said, CW interacted with designers and architects and discovered that false flooring can come in handy ..

The Variation Challenge

A variation or change in scope clause is defined in construction contracts to take care of situations arising from change in the defined scope of work. Such changes may arise due to factors such as additions or deletions in the scope of work, modifications in the type, grade or specifications of materials, alterations in specifications or drawings, and acts or omissions of other contractors. Further, ineffective planning, inadequate investigations or surveys and requests from the employer or those within the project’s area of influence can contribute to changes in the scope of work. Ext..
