Railways have increased the number of rakes assigned to coal movement and have introduced measures to reduce transit and unloading times, including enhanced crew rosters and priority paths. Port operators handling imported consignments have been instructed to accelerate customs clearance and storage operations to free berths and hasten deliveries. Private miners and merchant suppliers have been directed to divert available stocks to critical stations and to enter short term supply arrangements to bridge immediate gaps. Higher deliveries have helped sustain generation and have reduced immediate risks to supply continuity, although inventories remain lean in some regions. Distribution companies have been advised to manage demand through operational adjustments and to postpone non-essential outages, while planned maintenance at a small number of units has been rescheduled to preserve fuel. Industrial consumers are coordinating with utilities on scheduled draws to balance commercial needs and system reliability. Ministries and industry bodies will continue to monitor consumption patterns and adjust allocations to maintain grid stability through the period of heightened demand. Attention remains on accelerating domestic production and on strengthening logistics and stock management to improve resilience, alongside ongoing plans to expand renewable capacity and reduce long term dependence on coal. Stakeholders are aligning operational decisions and supply chain investments to bridge the present gap between demand and availability.
